Not only does Mike know a lot about injury prevention in athletes, he knows a lot about training, racing, and coaching others to reach their goals and get the most out of their training. How does it work?
When you sign up for a personalized training plan or active coaching plan, the first thing you receive is a Personal History Form via email. The form will ask you about your running background, injury history, training history, and running goals. After submitting the form, Coach Mike will send you an email with your personalized training plan within a few days. If you sign up for an active coaching plan you get a weekly, modifiable training plans along with unlimited emails for ongoing coaching, support, and injury evaluation/management if needed.
The length of the plan depends on which plan you select. There are 8 week, 12 week, and 16 week plans. Each plan will be specific to the race distance of your choice: 5k, 10k, Half, or Full Marathon. The active coaching option is available for each plan length and race distance.
Because Stride Ahead Coaching was created by a physical therapist, all plans come with a complimentary Supplemental Exercises Guide. The guide is designed to promote balance, flexibility, and strength as a means of injury prevention. In addition, Stride Ahead Coaching offers professional Form & Gait Analysis. Using uploaded video, Coach Mike can improve your running form and gait by critiquing imbalances and unhealthy body mechanics.
